I don't want a future where AI writes code and humans do chores

I recently posted this.

As a programmer (engineer), I develop web services. Recently, AI has improved my work efficiency by writing code for me. By tackling even daunting tasks with AI, I can proceed smoothly.

I’m not focusing too much on AI coding; it’s strictly for auxiliary purposes. Basically, I use GitHub Copilot in VS Code, and I don’t put any special effort into prompts.

The other day, I completely delegated a task to AI and had it write almost 100% of the code. I review it, but I also have AI make corrections.

While AI was writing the code, I was organizing receipts for my final tax return.

AI is doing the creative work of coding, and I, the human, am doing the chore of organizing receipts. This scenario felt strange to me.

I realized that a future where AI writes code and humans do chores is not the future I desire. I’m not doing the enjoyable coding myself, but instead doing simple, uninteresting work. Shouldn’t it be the other way around?

I want the National Tax Agency and the Digital Agency to progressively automate final tax returns and various tax procedures. Although things have become more convenient with the connection of various related parties through the My Number portal, there is still a lot of manual work. I also want accounting software to evolve further so that filing final tax returns takes only a moment.

The future I desire is one where humans use that time to engage in creative work.
